Assessment Placement

Our Six-Day Assessment Placement is based at the Wyken Assessment Centre

Our Wyken Assessment Centre offers a dynamic and nurturing environment for students referred following permanent exclusion. Commissioned by Coventry City Council, this provision addresses the Local Authority’s statutory obligations while placing each student’s needs at the forefront.

We offer two programmes at this centre. All students benefit from a comprehensive 360° assessment, which forms the foundation for a bespoke 12 week programme for years 9, 10 and 11 or a nurture programme of up to 24 weeks for years 7 & 8.  Designed to overcome barriers and set them on a successful educational journey, we have small class sizes, one-to-one or small group interventions, and a seamless transition process with students are supported every step of the way.

Our skills-based curriculum includes:

  • Core subjects: English, Maths, Science, PE, PSHE/RSHE
  • Humanities, Art, Food Technology, and Enhancement lessons
  • SEMH-focused group sessions
  • Daily interventions targeting academic growth and wellbeing
  • Enriching activities like music lessons and tailored careers advice

These pathways ensure students leave with the resilience, skills, and confidence to take

their next steps in education.
